The Simply Summer Workshop will help you add a rhythm which everyone in the family will benefit from. We will show you how to create the Super Summer Challenge which will work best for your schedule, priorities and interests.
What is a Super Summer Challenge?
As your children participate in the Super Summer Challenge they will:
- get rewarded for continuing or learning new skills
- be motivated in areas of self-discipline
- discover how to look outside themselves
- mature in sibling unity
- form invaluable lifelong habits
The Super Summer Challenge is a chart of activities and goals you create for your children to work on all summer or whatever time frame you need. When they complete their projects or reach their goals, you get to celebrate! The challenge only takes a few hours to prepare and can give your family three months of fun, learning and growing.
What is the idea behind Creating a Simply Summer?
Amy Wicks first tried creating a Super Summer Challenge over nine years ago. It was then she fell in love with the concept and experienced a great result with her girls at ages 2 and 3. Each year she has tried different methods of planning and preparing in order to make it as simple and fun as possible. Some techniques have stuck and she's loved sharing them with all her friends and family. She knew it was a great thing to share her mother-in-laws book and idea of a Super Summer Challenge, but even better was to find a way thousands could experience her help with planning a Simply Summer.
When Amy heard the idea of writing an online workshop, she knew this was the way she could help so many families like yours.

How it all began...
Linda Wicks and Becky Bilbro read Sanity in the Summertime, by Linda Dillow and Claudia Arp over 30 years ago. They took a few ideas from that book and began their family tradition of a Super Summer Challenge every year. Soon others began to catch onto the idea and began asking how they could create this with their family!
Linda Wicks has spoken to hundreds of other women and taught them how to create a Super Summer Challenge for their families. Linda spent several years crafting a book, so this message could be shared all over the country. Over the years, many women continue to invite their good friends to share in these intentional ideas for their children.
"I'm so glad someone told me about the super summer challenge. It makes the summer days off of school much more interesting for me and my kids. They have things to work at and challenge them, and I get to see them try. Also I don't feel pressure to find things to keep them busy, I can just direct them to the chart on the wall if they tell me they're bored."
- Noelle W.- mom of three in Columbia, MO
"Super Summer Challenge has become a tradition that helps me set aside
time to think about each child and what challenges I can use to help
them grow physically, mentally, or spiritually. I love it when they
are scattered about the house or outdoors enthusiastically working on
some aspect of their challenge. It is especially heart warming for me
when they are working together to earn points."
-The Griffiths Family, Kansas City, MO
We are two weeks into our Super Summer Challenge and I am astounded at how different our days have looked. My kids are eager to earn points and I am happily watching as they establish new habits, pursue new ways of serving around our home and flex their creative muscles when it comes to their play time. The Simply Summer course gave me the exact tools I needed to come up with a plan and then implement it and I couldn't be more pleased with how our summer days are turning out!
